Established on March 31, 2007 for celebrating the advancement of women through education. Friendship is our cornerstone but exists to be a source of encouragement and support for women to realize their potential in whatever worthwhile endeavor they choose.
Mississippi State Chapter was organized March 13, 1967 with 9 founding chapters, A to I. Today, we are proud of our 21 chapters and 672 members throughout the state. We look forward to the challenge of the future which is to keep moving forward in the continuing work of our sisterhood.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood was founded 139 years ago in 1869 on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa. It has grown to become an international organization with broad philanthropic and cultural aims and an ever-increasing interest in furthering educational opportunities for women.
